Question

The ratio of tin and zinc in an alloy is 3:4. In 21 kg of alloy, find the quantity of tin and zinc in alloy.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let TZ=34
T= No. of kgs of Tin in alloy
Z= No. of kgs of zinc in alloy
T+Z=21 kg
3Z4+Z=21
7Z4=21
z=21×47
Z=12kg
T=34×12=9kg
Quantity of Tin in alloy=9kg
Quantity of zinc in alloy=12kg.
