Question

The total surface area of a solid cylinder is 462 cm 2 and its curved surface area is one-third of total surface area. Find the volume of the cylinder.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Total surface area of cylinder = 462 cm2

Currend surface area =13 of Total Surface Area

=13×462

=154cm2

Area of each circle =(462154)2

=154cm2

πr2=154

r=7

2πrh=154

h=154×72×22×7

h=3.5

Volume = πr2h=539cm3
