Question

The 34th part of a conical vessel of radius 5 cm and height 24 cm is full of water. The water is poured into a cylindrical vessel with radius 10 cm. Find the height of water level in cylindrical vessel.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Volume of cone=13πr2h
=13×3.14×5×5×24
=628cm3
Water filled=34×628=3×157
=471cm3
This volume of water fills the cylinder
Volume of cylinder=πr2h
471=3.14×10×10×h
h=471314=1.5cm
Height of water level in cylindrical vessel=1.5cm.
