Question

There are 10 condensers each of capacity 5μF. The ratio of minimum to maximum capacity obtained from these condensers will be :

  1. 1:50
  2. 1:100
  3. 100:1
  4. 50:1

A
50:1
B
1:50
C
100:1
D
1:100
Solution
Verified by Toppr

C=5μF
minimum capacity is obtained when all are in a series,
1cs=1c1+1c2.....+1c10
1cs=15+15+.....+15=105
cs=12
maximum capacity is obtained when they are parallety connected
ceff=c1+c2+.......+c10
= 5 + 5 + ......+5
cp=10(5)
cp=50

Ratio of min to max capacity,
cscp=0.550=1:100
