Welwitschia Mirabilis is a plant which is found in the Namib Desert in Namibia Southern Angola. It was named after the Austrian botanist Friedrich Welwitsch, who discovered it in 1859. The plant is attributable to its two features:
It's durability as a desert plant and the fact that it has only two leaves. These two leaves grow continuously, but slowly. The exact age of the plant is unknown. However, some believe it to be at least 1000 years old.
