Let the three plates be denote by A,B and C and the six surfaces as A1,A2,B1,B2,C1,C2 as shown in figure. Taking into account the capacitive effects, one can easily get the charges on A2,B1,B2 & C1.
If C1 and C2 be the capacitance of capacitors formed by plates A & B and B & C.
respectively, then C1=0Aa & C2=0Ab
Where A= area of each plate as C1 & C2 are in parallel,
Q1=QC1C1+C2 and Q2=QC2C1+C2
Solving we get,
Q1=Qba+b and Q2=Qaa+b
Hence, change on B1Q1=Qba+b
charge on B2,Q2=Qba+b
charge on A2,Q1=Qba+b
charge on C2,Q2=Qba+b
As net charge on plates A& C must be zero, charges of A1 & C2 together should be negative of charges on A2 & C1 Q. Using the fact the electric field must we get,
charge on A1=Q/2
charge on C2=Q/2
