Question

Three sound waves of equal amplitudes have frequencies (n1),n,(n+1). They superimpose to give beats. The number of beats produced per second will be
  1. 2
  2. 4
  3. 1
  4. 3

A
2
B
4
C
3
D
1
Solution
Verified by Toppr

The formula for the beat frequency is fb=f2f1
Where f1 and f2 are the frequency of two waves.
Now

fb=f2f1

fb=(n+1)(n1)

fb=(n+1n+1)

fb=2

Thus the number of beats produced per second will be 2.
