  3. Nearsightedness
  4. Myopia

A

D

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Hypermteropia arises either because (i) the focal length of the eye lens is too long, or (ii) the eyeball has become too small.
On the other hand, myopia or nearsightedness is caused by elongation of the eyeball which results in focusing of the image in front of the retina.
Astigmatism is the error in vision as caused by refraction defects brought about by abnormal curvature in surface or cornea or lens. This causes fuzzy image formation on the retina due to the uneven focusing of light rays.
So, the correct answer is option D.
