The two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are AB=24cm and BC=18cm.
Distance between the longer side DE=12cm
Let the distance between the shorter sideDF=x cm
Area of parallelogram considering AB as base =AB×DE=24×12cm2
Area of parallelogram considering BC as base =BC×DF=18×xcm2
Since the area are same
12×24=18×x
x=12×2418
x=16 cm
