LET AT PRESENT, FATHER'S AGE=M AND SON'S AGE=S
I.E. M-2=3(S2)2
I.E. M=3S^2-12S+14........................1
ALSO M+3=4(S+3)=4S+12
I.E. M=4S+9..........................2
FROM 1 & 2, 3S^2-12S+14=4S+9
I.E. 3S^2-16S+5=0
I.E. EITHER S=5 OR S=1/3
BECAUSE S CAN'T BE 1/3, THEREFORE S=5,
BY PUTTING IN 2, WE GET,
M=4S+9=29,
I.E. AT PRESENT, MAN'S AGE=29 AND SON'S AGE=5
