Assertion :Virtual image can be photographed. Reason: Only a real image can be formed on a screen.
  1. Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
  2. Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion
  3. Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect
  4. Assertion is incorrect but Reason is correct

A
Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect
B
Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
C
Assertion is incorrect but Reason is correct
D
Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Both statements as true. In a real image, the convergence of light rays takes place to meet at a point.
But no such meeting of light takes place in the virtual images. Hence if we place a screen at the position of the virtual image, nothing would be seen. However, when a camera or eyes or any converging lens system is placed in front of the reflected rays that seem to form an image(virtual image), the rays are actually converged by the lens to form an image on their screens.
