Question

Water is being poured at the rate of 36m3/sec in a cylindrical vessel of base radius 3 meters. Find the rate at which water level is rising.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Volume of cylinder,

V=πr2h

differentiating on both sides,

dVdt=πr2dhdt

36=π×32×dhdt

dhdt=369π=4π

height of water level increasing at a rate of 4π
