$$\bullet$$ The word acid is derived from the Latin word’ Acids’ which means sour. Hence, we can say that the substances which are sour in taste are called acids.
$$\bullet$$ Two food items which contain acid: Orange and curd.
Orange contains citric acid.
Curd contains lactic acid.
