What are the main characteristics of the tropical thorn forests?
The three characteristics features of the thorn forests and scrubs are:
- The thorn forests are found in the regions which receive less than 70 cm of rainfall.
- These forests are found in the semi-arid areas of Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
- The trees of the thorny bushes have long roots that penetrate deep into the soil in search of water.
- Leaves are thick and small to minimize evaporation. Some varieties of trees are acacias, palms, and cacti.
