Depth perception occurs in the brain using information of the details of image formed.
Image formed by a single eye has some information which helps the brain process the distance of the object.
However, for complete efficiency on depth perception, more information is required. Hence, information from both eyes is used and then the brain gives a much better idea of depth perception.
