A Simple pendulum is an arrangement in which a point heavy mass is attached to a rigid support by a massless string. Where the point heavy mass is known as bob. When the bob is displaced from its equilibrium position, it starts oscillating about its mean position.
No simple pendulum is not used in pendulum clocks. Because in simple pendulum the bob is a point heavy mass and the string is considered to be massless. But in pendulum of a pendulum clock, the bob is not a point mass and also the string is not massless.
