Thermostat is in device to detect the variation of temperature in a system. Which wants to maintain the constant temperature. For example; it is used to control the flow of electric current to a heating or cooling unit or of a heated or coaled gas. The thermostat generates signals usually electrical when the temperature varies from the desired value. It is also used in some  type of fire - detection warning system.
