Air pollution is the contamination of air with unwanted substance that also might have harmful effects on both living and non-living things.
Causes of air pollution:
- Burning of fossil fuels release O2, CO2 and NO2 gases that cause acid rain. They also release unburnt carbon particles and smoke
- Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) released from refrigerators, air conditioners and aerosol sprays also cause air pollution.
- Smoke from industries.
Harmful effects of air pollution:
- It causes respiratory problems.
- Allergies, cancer and heart diseases are caused.
- Air pollution also causes acid rain.
