Question

What are the things the child sees on his way to the fair? Why does he lag behind?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

On the way to the fair the child notices people walking, riding horses, and sitting on bamboo and bullock carts. His eyes linger on the toys lined up. He sees the flowering mustard field, a group of dragonflies, little insects and worms along the footpath, flowers, doves, the banyan tree, a sweet-maker with various sweets, a flower seller, a man with colourful balloons, a snake charmer and a roundabout in full swing.
He lags behind because he is so fascinated by all the sights.
