The tripartite struggle was a long drawn conflict among the rulers of Pratihara, Rashtrakuta and Pala dynasties for control over Kannauj. This is also known as Kannauj triangle war. This war continued for 2 centuries and was finally won by Rajput Pratihar ruler Nagbhatta II.
