  1. Spermatids
  2. Spermatogonium
  3. Sperm
  4. Primary spermatocytes

A
Spermatids
B
Primary spermatocytes
C
Spermatogonium
D
Sperm
Solution
Verified by Toppr

The correct option is D Primary spermatocytes
In testis, the immature male germ cells, spermatogonia produce sperms by a process called spermatogenesis that begins at puberty. It occurs in four stages. During the first step of spermatogenesis, i.e. spermatocytogenesis, the spermatogonia present on the inside wall of the seminiferous tubules multiply by mitotic division and increase in numbers. Each spermatogonia is diploid containing 46 chromosomes. When spermatogonia accumulates large amount of nutrient and chromatin material and increases in size, it is known as primary spermatocytes. It periodically undergo meiosis and others remain as spermatogonia cells.
