When white light enters a prism, the blue light is bentmore than the red, because blue light has a shorter wavelength and it refract more than the longer wavelength red light.

Both the red and the blue components of light travels in the same direction as before entry into the prism. As, angle of deviation of the various components of white light after transmission is different so the blue light travels further downward when passing through the rectangle in comparison to the red light.
