Which of the following are amphoteric oxides?
  1. Al2O3
  2. SnO2
  3. SiO2
  4. Ga2O3

A
SiO2
B
SnO2
C
Ga2O3
D
Al2O3
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Generally in 14 group CO2 and GeO2 and SiO2 are acidic, PbO2 and SnO2 are amphoteric.
Generally in 13 group only B2O3 is acidic . Al2O3 and Ga2O3 are amphoteric and those of indium and thallium are basic in nature.
So, SnO2,Al2O3,Ga2O3 are amphoteric.
