To secure Sultanate's frontiers against Mongol invasions, Alauddin Khalji built several new forts and repaired older ones along the north-western frontier of the Empire in Punjab and Sindh. He put strong army contingents in places like Samana and Dipalpur. He also built a wall around Delhi for the same.
