The Dandi March is also known as the Salt March or the Dandi Satyagraha. It was started by Mahatma Gandhi on 12th March 1930. Mahatma Gandhi along with 78 companions marched nearly 375 Km from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, a village in Gujarat sea-coast. On reaching Dandi on 6th April 1930, Gandhiji broke the law by making salt from seawater. This marked the beginning of Civil Disobedience Movement.
