Firoz Tughlaq, the last ruler of the Tughlaq dynasty, was an orthodox ruler. He sent an embassy to the Caliph in order to seek recognition from him. Firoz believed that legalisation of his rule from the Caliph would convince the people of the subcontinent to accept his supremacy.
