Louis Philippe was forced to flee in the year 1848. As economic conditions worsened in France, Philippe was forced to give up his crown after the outbreak of the French Revolution of 1848. Food shortages and widespread, unemployment brought the population of Paris out on the roads. Barricades were erected and Louis Philippe was forced to flee.
