Local names are insufficient because same organism will have a different name, in different languages and cultures.
This will create difficulty and confusion.

(i)The system of scientific name for an organism is unique and universal.
(ii)Scientific name can be used to identify an organism anywhere in the world.
(iii)The scientific name of an organism is a result of classification, which puts it along with other organisms it is most related to.
