Question

Why is HIV infection considered very fatal?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

HIV attacks the immune system and destroys its function. It weakens it to such an extent that the host immune system is unable to fight even minor infections such as common cold caused by the influenza virus. Small cold can also lead to pneumonia and minor gut infections can result into diarrhea leading to blood loss. Finally, these secondary infections kill people suffering from HIV infections.
