Question

Why S2 is bigger than O2

Solution
Verified by Toppr

S2 is larger than O2 because S2 has more electrons than O2. ... S2 is larger than K+ because the decrease in electron repulsions that accompany addition of an electron causes the electron cloud to expand. S2 is larger than K+ because the two ions are isoelectronic and K+ has the larger Z and Zeff.
