Why should grains be dried before storage?
Foodgrains should be completely dried before storage because of the following reasons:
a) The presence of moisture may be favourable for the growth of microorganisms.
b) The moisture and favourable temperature will enhance the germination of stored seeds.
Thus, it is of utmost importance that the seeds are well dried before storing them for future use.
