Principle of electric motor: A force acts on a current-carrying wire placed in a magnetic field. When the loop which is prepared from this wire is placed in a magnetic field, two forces act on the wire in mutually opposite directions and perpendicular to the wires. This causes the loop to rotate.

Uses: An electric motor is used in appliances such as electric fan, mixer, washing machine, DVD player and computer.
