Chemical formula of Dry Ice is: CO2

It is stored in an Air-tight vessel/container. Because it will absorb the heat and can sublime to gaseous CO2.

Dry Ice is so called as it matches with Ice. Since CO2. cannot exist in liquid form. It sublimes straight from a solid to gas that is why it is called Dry Ice.
