What is Punjab Board? Stroke 396

  • The Punjab School Education Board came into existence through a legislative enactment in November 1969
  • It was founded for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab
  • In 1987, the Vidhan Sabha amended the Board’s Act to grant it autonomy

Functions of Punjab Board Stroke 396

Following are some of the functions of PSEB:

  1. To make necessary arrangements for smoothly conducting public examination at school level.
  2. At present the board conducts public examinations at middle, matriculation, and senior secondary level.
  3. It prescribe the curriculum, courses of studies and text books for school education.
  4. The board has a full - fledged academic wing, with subject experts. The main responsibility of this wing is to prepare and revise the syllabi regularly and then prepare textbooks accordingly.
  5. It arranges for the preparation, compilation, improvement, publication, printing and sale of textbooks.
  6. To make necessary arrangements for affiliations with schools to the board.
  7. To make efforts to bring about qualitative improvement in school education.
  8. To act as an advisory body to the state government regarding school education.

Preparation Tips for Punjab Board

Prepare a study plan

For completing the syllabus well ahead in time, it is important that you check the entire syllabus and prepare a detailed study plan. Any comprehensive study plan should include reading the basic study material, followed by a thorough study of additional reference books to gain detailed knowledge on the subject. Practicing a set of questions that test the conceptual understanding of the subject will be helpful. A month before examination

Jot down all important formulae and definitions from every topic and revise them from time to time. Pen down the points which require detailed study and try to follow the paper pattern of the past five years. Going through online tutorials and last minute preparation tips may help in improving your scores.

A day before the examination

You should try to keep your mind refreshed and maintain a steady focus on the paper ahead. The examination venue and timing should be checked against your admit card, that will be uploaded on the official website of the board.

Try to take a deep breath and feel relaxed before the examination. Optimal self-confidence is the key to a good performance.

Examination time

Make sure you carry pens, pencils, scales, erasers, admit cards, drinking water, etc. Read the questions thoroughly before jumping to a conclusive answer.
