Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (ABV-IIITM Gwalior), commonly known as the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (IIITM Gwalior), is a university located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. Established in 1997 and named for Atal Bihari Vajpayee, it was recognized as an Institute of National Importance.

Campus

The institute is located on a 160-acre (0.65 km²) campus near Gwalior Fort. It is a residential campus; faculty and students live on campus. It houses several departmental blocks with academic block houses lecture theatres, seminar halls, library, laboratories and faculty offices, administrative block, an amphitheatre, indoor sports complex and the student hostels. There are three hostels for boys and one for girls. The campus has a variety of plants including those with medicinal properties. The institute initially operated from a temporary site in Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior (MITS) and later shifted to its own facility.

History

Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh is an autonomous institute set by Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 1997. It is an effort by MHRD towards creating professionals in areas of management and information technology from the same institute. This institute was created for facilitating higher education, research, and consultancy in areas of information technology (IT) and business management. Initially started as IIITM, this institute was prefixed with ABV in 2002 to honour the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior commonly known as the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior or ABV-IIITM is a university located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India, established in 1997.

The institute is mainly offers Information and Technology based courses, however the institute focuses on few other fields of education like Business, Management etc.

The institute holds different admission procedure for the different courses provided by the institute.

• To apply for IPG (Integrated Post Graduate) course candidates are bound to appear in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) which is equipped to seek admission in Technology based courses.
• Candidates seeking admission in M.Tech programme have to appear in The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. Instead of GATE, candidates can appear in Centralized Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT) for applying in M.Tech.
• Candidates interested in MBA need to attend in Common Aptitude Test (CAT) following a group discussion and personal interview.
• For applying in Ph.D programme candidates need to go through an interview followed by a subsequent counseling.

ABV – IIITM IPG Admissions 2018

At the PG level the university caters Integrated Post Graduate (IPG) based on the area of Engineering and Technology. The course holds two different specializations comprising a duration period of five years.

To fulfil the eligibility criteria candidates need to secure 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards.

To apply for IPG (Integrated Post Graduate) course candidates are bound to appear in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) which is equipped to seek admission in Technology based courses.

Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST category will be benefited by a 10% of marks relaxation in 12th standard to be considered eligible for the IPG course.

ABV – IIITM M.Tech Admission 2018

The university offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) with a duration of two years for the candidates wants to explore their career in Technology related field. The course comprises multiple specializations.

Candidates passed in B.E. / B.tech in relevant discipline and secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC / OB are considered to be eligible to apply for M.Tech programme offered by ABV-IIITM.

At the PG level the institute offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) holding a two years duration period under various specializations.

Candidates need to have First class bachelor degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology or first class master’s degree in Science, Operation Research, Computer Science, Economics or Commerce with Mathematics or Statistics at the bachelor level, to fulfil the eligibility criteria.
