There are many institutes that will offer admissions to the qualifying candidates of JEE Main 2018 into their undergraduate engineering programs on the basis of their scores, marks, and ranks. JEE Main 2018 participating institutes include 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 19 Government-Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs). The number of JEE Main 2018 Participating Institutes can go up or down depending upon as and when CBSE, the exam conducting body for JEE Main 2018, releases the list for 2018. As of now, as many as 70 institutes of national importance are the participating institutes of JEE Main 2018. The National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Tiruchirappalli, was started as a joint and co-operative venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1964. The International Institute of Information Technology Pune is a premier institute recognized by the government of India and approved under AICTE. The institute is situated at the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Hinjawadi, Pune. IIIT Pune students are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad.
