Provides an Additional Learning Medium

People have accepted verbal reasoning as the basics of any learning. Being a teacher, one understands that different students process things differently. Students depend on other senses as well other than verbal. These include the visual as well.

Therefore, visual learners get a system of existence by doodling in class. Doodling aligns naturally with their thought process. Hence, when you allow these visual learners to doodle, you allow them to accept their innate language. Above all, this is much better than compelling them to be the same as the other.

Records Complicated Thoughts Promptly-

Doodling is one of the best ways to record your complicated thoughts. It gives you quick access to tools that will capture these ideas quickly. For example- An architect does not write down an idea that came to his/her mind. He/She quickly draws it to record the thought.  The same is the case with students, they doodle their thoughts instantly which stays with them for a long time. This way students remember it for longer.

Averts Diversion-

Contrary to popular belief, doodling averts diversion. People usually link boredom with idleness. However, this is not the case. The brain becomes more active when it is idle. Likewise, the same thing in the classroom will cause disorderly conduct.

Therefore, when students doodle they choose a customized way of learning. As they will be involved in this, their mind won’t wander elsewhere.

Assists in Recollection and Reasoning-

Doodling is beneficial for visual learners, this has been stated earlier. Likewise, it also helps them in the recollection of things easily as well as reasoning. A research was carried out which showed that the doodling participants could recollect more.

Moreover, when students make visual notes when in class, they get better clarification. While this may not work for each and every student, but it definitely helps the visual learners.

Encourages Creative Problem-solving-

Doodling is all about creativity. It helps the mind relax and allows the thoughts to flow. Usually, a person does not feel pressured when doing so.

Similarly, this encourages creative problem-solving. When their mind is relaxed and stress-free, they can work efficiently. Thus, doodling helps keep the mind neutral. This, in turn, produces great results.
