AIIMS Jodhpur Ph.D. Admission 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Students, who want to seek admission or get the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, should at least have the following qualifications from a recognized University/Institute:
- a) He/she should have a Master of Sciences or Master’s degree in any subject that is associated with BioMedical Sciences or Master’s Degree in Nursing and should have got at least 60% marks. Alternatively, he must have cleared the Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diplomat of the National Board of Examinations.
- b) MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional examinations
AIIMS Jodhpur Ph.D. Admission 2017 Selection Procedure
The selection process of Ph.D. registration involves two stages:
It includes a written exam in the subject the candidate has applied for. The question paper comprises of theory and clinical/practical/lab-based multiple-choice Questions (MCQs) and Short Answer Questions (SAQs). Every correct answer gets you 1 mark. However, every wrong answer will be awarded one-third negative mark (-1/3). If you mention more than one answer, then it will be treated as a wrong answer and you’ll get negative marks. You’ll get zero marks for questions that are not attempted at all.
Candidates who get at least 50% or more in stage I, will become eligible for stage II (Departmental clinical/practical/Lab-based assessment). But note that the number of candidates that are invited for stage II does not exceed three times the number of the seats advertised.

AIIMS at Jodhpur started its academic session 2012–13 from 17 September 2012. There were 50 students in the first batch of MBBS at AIIMS Jodhpur. Outdoor patient (OPD) services began at the AIIMS Jodhpur from July 27, 2013, making it the first among the six new AIIMS, established across the country, to begin with, OPD services in 16 areas of specialization. AIIMS has recently started MD courses in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology and Community Medicine and Family Medicine departments. The education pattern followed by the institute is same as AIIMS, New Delhi.
AIIMS Jodhpur reserves 27% of its seats for OBC category, 15% for SC, 8% for ST and the remaining 50% for general students. The institute was ranked 41 all over India in the year 2016. AIIMS, Jodhpur provides undergraduate degree in the following two courses –
- MSC Hons. Nursing – To get admitted into this course at AIIMS Jodhpur, the student must have attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission. The applicant must have passed the 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination from a recognized University/ Board of any Indian State with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates for B.Sc. (Hons) Para- Medical Courses should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics. For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing course, only female candidates are eligible.
The duration of the course is 4 years and there is a total of 60 seats.
- MBBS – The applicant must have passed the 12thClass under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent Examination of a recognized University/ Board of any Indian State with ENGLISH, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, and BIOLOGY as a subject. The Course of studies leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences shall last for a minimum of 5½ academic years including one-year compulsory internship.
The duration of the course is 5 years, with the availability of 100 seats in all.
In order to get admission into any of the available courses at the institute, candidates must clear the entrance examination. The examination pattern is given as follows –
The competitive AIIMS Entrance Examination has one paper consisting of 200 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. The distribution of questions is as follows –
- Physics – 60
- Chemistry – 60
- Biology (Botany and Zoology) – 60
- General Knowledge – 10
- Aptitude and Logical Thinking – 10
Total duration will be 3.5 hours and the marking scheme of the exam is given below –
- Each incorrect response will get a score of -1/3 (minus-one-third)
- Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark
- No credit will be given for the questions unanswered.
- More than one response will be treated as a wrong answer and negatively marked.

The cut-off marks are nothing but the lowest or minimum score a candidate needs to secure in order to qualify the entrance exam. Candidates who belong to the general category have to score a minimum of 50% in AIIMS MBBS 2017, and candidate from SC/ST category need to obtain a minimum of 40% in the entrance exam to qualify the rounds. Also, candidates from the OBC category have to score at least 45% in AIIMS MBBS. AIIMS Medical Entrance Exam is scheduled for May 28, 2017.
It’s crucial to note that AIIMS Cutoff is as per the availability of seats, difficulty level of exam, previous year’s cutoff, number of candidates, etc. The AIIMS Cut off ranks or marks vary every year and are always declared after the AIIMS MBBS Result is announced.
- Candidates who have scored as per the cut-off of AIIMS MBBS can go ahead for the counselling process for admission.

The first, second and third round of AIIMS MBBS Counselling 2017 is slated to begin from July 3, 2017. All the students need to be present themselves at the designated locations. The candidates have to meet the qualifying marks as decided by the competent authority for all the categories.

AIIMS 2017 Result
The AIIMS exam 2017 took place through the online mode on 28th May 2017. Once the examination was over, the AIIMS Result 2017 was declared on 15th June 2017. A merit list will now be drawn depending on the marks obtained in the AIIMS entrance exam. Students can take part in the AIIMS counselling 2017 on the basis of their rank in the AIIMS rank list.
AIIMS, Jodhpur has two separate single-seated hostels for undergraduate boys and girls each having 250 and 125 rooms respectively.
For the postgraduate students and interns, there are 196 rooms available.
190 rooms are vacant provided for the residents and 200 for the nursing students.
Moreover, there are 13 rooms for guests; which include 3 suites, 8 doubled bedded rooms, and 2 single-bedded rooms.

Hospitals Services at AIIMS Jodhpur
- OPD SERVICES
The Outpatient Department at AIIMS, Jodhpur is completely paperless from the day of its inception. The OPD occupies a very important value in any Institute or hospital and is considered to be a window to the hospital care. OPD in a Medical Institute has broadly 3 roles – Patient care, medical education, and research.
Patient care – The patients in OPD need special care, clear communication, and convenience. AIIMS, Jodhpur has the convenience to provide this along with concern for patients. The OPD services are provided through 5 Registration counters, 3 OPD ticket counters, 15 Clinical and 4 diagnostic departments through 5 blocks having 45 consultation rooms, 4 treatment/dressing rooms, 4 teaching rooms and 3 recording rooms.
Education – The OPD is the most appropriate place for education – both for patients and for healthcare professionals. For patients, OPD provides a place to consult multiple doctors, health educators, and counselors. The resident doctors are a link between medical experts and patients help in clarifying many issues that the patient may have.
Research – Availability of Computerised Patient Management System (CPMS) has opened a new facet for conducting research in OPD setting. The data available being restricted to patients visiting hospital may only reflect the tip of the iceberg but gives a lead to Community Medicine Department and other researchers to explore these disorders in depth of the region.
- Inpatient Department (IPD) Services
The IPD services are totally paperless from the very beginning. The department forms the significant component of the scope of AIIMS at Jodhpur. IPD is important not only towards providing advanced treatment to sick patients but is also essential for providing quality undergraduate training for MBBS and MSc (Nursing) students.
Currently, there are 204 beds in the IPD. The usual bed occupancy rate at the hospital is more than 95% with vacant beds a rarity. All wards are adequately provided by manpower so as to ensure optimum comfort to the patient. All medicines, injections and other consumables are provided to the patient free of cost and are included in the built-in charges.
An advanced Bronchoscopy room has also been established in the IPD. There is a total of 6 bedded Adult Intensive Care unit along with Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive care units. The institute has catered to 3126 major operations in the year 2015-16. AIIMS, Jodhpur has a distinction of being one of the first institutes in Government Sector (after AIIMS, Delhi) to have successfully performed a conjoint twin separation. It took the hard work and contribution of more than 60 medical personnel to complete the task successfully.
- Diagnostic Services
The department of Biochemistry has had several installations and added to new technology. Two Nova Biomedical ABG and Av5800 Fully Automated Biochemistry Analyser were installed. In addition to gel documentation system, HPLC, Flow Cytometer, PCR, have been installed which adds to technology in the delivery of sophisticated tests and research facility. The department performed and reported 150419 tests, which had a spread over a wide menu of tests. A total of 14805 electrolyte analysis were carried out and 14604 hormonal assays were carried out.
Conference on Medical Health at AIIIMS, JODHPUR
Over 3,000 doctors and medical students from 25 states congregated at AIIMS, Jodhpur, for a two-day multidisciplinary conference NMOCON-2017 on February 11-12. The conference was organized by National Medicos Organisation on the theme “Accessible Medical Health for All: Healthy and Competent Nation”.
Union medical and health minister, J P Nadda and Union science and technology minister, Harshvardhan Singh along with state medical and health minister, Kalicharan Saraf consented to be a part of the event. It included various competitions like symposia, paper presentations, quizzes, debates, essays, elocution besides guest lectures and panel discussions.
Organizing secretary of the event, Dinesh Dutt Sharma said that the event was aimed at stimulating sustainable communication between teachers and students of medicine and inculcating among students a sense of duty towards the society and the nation as a doctor.
He said that the focus of the conference was more on prevention than cure with a larger perspective of community health. Also, light was shed on the ancient Indian science for better health.
According to organizing chairman, Ashok Kalwar, the event also strived to explore the integration of modern medicine with ancient life philosophies called Ayush, i.e., holistic and positive health. He said that awareness among people about ancient health practices had seen a spurt and they were exploring the lifestyles that their ancestors and forefathers practiced for better health.
“Prior to the conference, 150 doctors will cycle from Bikaner to Jodhpur. Enroute, they will hold street plays and night chaupals in the villages and towns to spread awareness among people about diseases caused by the modern lifestyle,” Dinesh Dutt Sharma said before the event held.
The cycle ended with a workshop on positive health on February 10, after which the doctors headed to AIIMS, Jodhpur, in order to take part in the conference. At the conference, leading doctors, scientists, and speakers delivered lectures on holistic health across different academic and scientific sessions.

Placement Scenario at AIIMS Jodhpur
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has issued a notification on its official website pertaining to the Online (Computer Based Test: CBT) Staff Nurse Grade II Recruitment Examination. The examination will be conducted on March 25 on an all India basis for the post of Staff Nurse Grade II of AIIMS Jodhpur and AIIM, Rishikesh. The exam will be a single joint entrance exam that will be conducted through CBT across the nation. Candidates can visit the official website aiims.org for details related to the exam.
The opening date of filling the online registrations was February 22. The date of doing the online registration was March 6, up to 5:00 pm. Admit cards of the exam were released on March 14. The recruitment exam is yet to be conducted on March 25. The exam will be conducted at various centers across the nation for AIIMS Jodhpur and AIIMS Rishikesh in two shifts.
