National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, more commonly known as NEET UG is a medical entrance exam which is conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses across all Medical and Dental colleges in India. The final result for the NEET 2018 exam will be declared in the month of June 2018, after which counseling starts for the availability of seats at colleges which are participating in NEET 2018. Let us have a look at the score that is required for you to get into the Calcutta Medical College.

For NEET 2018, an overview can be drawn from the NEET 2017 cut-off. Based on an analysis of the previous scores and student reviews, the Kolkata State quota is around 520 – 530, while the All India quota is about 550+ .

Below table is the listing of seats for the year 2016 for the State of Kolkata (with slight approximation)

Round 1 Course Category Quota AI Round 2 Course Category Quota AI
OR CR OR CR
MBBS General 764 1912 MBBS General 2023 3399
MBBS SC 12341 18857 MBBS SC 24268 26781
MBBS ST 28297 35515 MBBS ST 46457 54118

The closing rank in the General category was around 3400. Specifically for the Calcutta Medical College, the opening rank was at 18 and the closing ranks was 981.

(The Opening and Closing Ranks in the year 2015 were 178 and 3031 for the same college.)

Hence the simple math is that you need to score a rank less than 1000 for qualifying. For getting a rank around 1000, the marks you need to secure would have to be in the range of 570-600 at the very least.

However if you wish to move your preference to any other colleges within Kolkata, any score up to 3000 will suffice.
