4. Time Management:-

“A stitch in time saves nine”. This phrase about time management is as true as the fact “earth is round”. It’s futile to explain the statement as we have always been advised to do a particular work within time, because many a times, it’s only a matter of time. The exams in concern are meant to be completed in a time duration of 3 hours, which can be a pain in the ass if not managed properly. So, it becomes crucial to know how you are going to attempt the questions on the final day. It is a better idea to practice time-management by solving the sample questions at home within the same 3 hours window. This will allow you to analyse the loopholes in your preparation and mar them within time, so that you can smoothly sail through the questions on the exam day. With enough practice, you can even save couple of minutes after completing the paper, you can use them to revise the paper, and this can be a game changer for you altogether.
“I started attempting sample papers in January and they helped me with my preparations a great deal. I attempted the papers between 10 am and 1 pm, when the actual examination takes place. That helped me concentrate better,” says Swati Mahindroo, who scored 97.25% last year.

5. Rectification of mistakes:-

It is often seen that even after practicing a certain thing a number of times, it somehow slips from our conscious mind, and we commit mistakes. It is through the sample papers that we can analyze so as to where and when we are wrong in writing answers, and this can be rectified and absorbed if viewed closely. It’s always a good idea to write everything you learn, this is not a wastage of time or paper, it is as crucial as fuel is for a vehicle, as nitrogen is for plants. Writing a particular thing a certain number of times, helps you to develop muscle memory, which is a great tool for writing long derivations and difficult formulae. Suppose you forget certain formulae while solving a question or forget the next step of a derivation, it is the muscle memory which makes you write the next steps correctly, without your brain even being conscious at that point of time. So, don’t only rely on the memorizing technique, develop the writing power to excel the exams.
