Choosing the Right Subject Stream:
Quite often, you’ll come across the dilemma of “Which option should I choose when it comes to the subject stream?” It is a big decision because many things eventually depend on your educational choices in life. Sometimes, you may also feel that your friends are less confused than you are. So, maybe you need to know a bit more about these subject streams before taking a decision.
The same question has also come to my mind when I was filling my admission form. Just FYI: I took coaching from Bansal and did schooling from DAV, Kota.
So, in this article, let me give you a rough idea about the pros and cons of different subjects to make your decision-making process simpler.
An Overview of Subjects
Computer Education
Taking up Computer Education has a fairly big advantage for your future. Roughly, every engineering college has Programming and Data Structures subjects in their first year in which you have to code in C language. So, if you take Computer Education during your +2, then you will get the upper hand among other students. You would also feel comfortable with the subjects, which many students find a bit complicated in their first year. You have to practice coding regularly because otherwise, you may not be able to score well in your exams. Keep in mind that this subject is totally technical and based on your understanding. You also need to attend computer practical classes, which will be hectic along with your other practical exams. So, you need to be prepared to take more pressure than usual.
Hindi
Choose this subject at your own risk because it’s literature, dude! Now, it’s not that I am freaking out, but I want to tell you one thing. If you choose literature in which you were average at your secondary level, then I will strongly recommend that you should not choose it at the higher secondary level. Ask yourself if you are ready to study poems, proses and stories. Don’t you think that is too much of work? Anyways, if you love languages, you can definitely take this up as it will stimulate the creative and dreamy side of your personality. Not everyone is made for technical stuff, right? Remember that you might just require a tutor in some cases, so you would need to take out extra time and prepare for this subject stream.
Physical Education
This stream may give you an edge over the others and is also beneficial for students preparing for JEE. I had also chosen this subject, so I am telling from my personal experience. I used to find it a bit stressful as I am a bit lazy and used to forget the yoga asanas soon. That’s my personal issue, though. So, apart from that, I never faced any problems in this subject. If you are active in sports activities like football, hockey, tennis, cricket or badminton, you’ll love the stuff you learn in these sessions. But let me tell you that the syllabus is just a book, which you have to memorize. So, it depends on whether you want to implement those things in your life or not.
I want to conclude by saying that in the end, it all depends on your priorities and comfort. It’s crucial to weigh the pros and cons logically before taking the final step.
