Common Law Admission Test commonly known as CLAT is the most desirable of all the law entrances in India after Class XII. Every year more than 40,000 students write the entrance exam to secure a seat in any one of the participating  National Law University including NLSIU Bangalore which is known as the Harvard of the East. In this article, find a list of all the CLAT participating institutes i.e colleges which will be giving admission via/accepting scores of CLAT.

CLAT 2018 Eligibility:

(1) The eligibility criteria for CLAT is that the candidate must have secured:

  • Forty five percent (45%) marks in Qualifying Exam (Class XII or equivalent) in case of candidates that belong to Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories.
  • Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

(2) The candidate will not be eligible for admission to the course if he/she is not able to submit the result of qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) at the time of admission.

CLAT 2018 Syllabus:

CLAT exam is conducted in online mode where the paper has 200 questions from five different subjects including English (Comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

English including comprehension: The English section will have comprehension passages, incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs:The General knowledge will be based on the general awareness including static general knowledge questions and questions on national and international current affairs.

Mathematics:This section will have maths taught up to 10th Class/standard.

Legal Aptitude: This section will include legal propositions and some propositions may not be “true” in the reality but the candidates will have to assume those as the “truth” and answer the questions accordingly.

Logical Reasoning: This section will include a variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

CLAT 2018 Exam Pattern

CLAT  exam is of two hour duration, which is conducted online and consists of 200 questions across five different fields.

CLAT Participating Institutes 2018 –

Common Law Admission Test is a national level law entrance test organized by NLUs on rotation basis. Every year CLAT is conducted to select students for 19 National Law Universities in India, other than National Law University-Delhi and HP National Law University-Shimla, which have their own process to select the students.This year NUALS Kochi (The National University of Advanced Legal Studies) has announced CLAT 2018 participating institutes. These law colleges will be participating in the Common Law Admission Test . 18th and 19th NLUs to join the CLAT committee this year are  Maharashtra National Law University Aurangabad and Maharashtra National Law University Nagpur.These CLAT participating institutes and other private colleges accepting CLAT score card offer law programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.There are more than 2300 seats for the admission into undergraduate programmes. Further, the list of CLAT participating institutes also include Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) which accepts scores of CLAT 2018.
