The Join Entrance Exam 2016 (JEE Main) was conducted on April 3 (offline) and April 9 and 10 (online). The answer keys to the same were made online on the official JEE (Main) website only a while ago.

After the Central Board of Secondary Education made the Joint Entrance Exam 2016 (Main) answer key public in their website, they have undergone severe criticism from various counters. In the answer key, two questions were marked to have two answers, whereas it was clearly specified in the paper that there would be only one answer to each of the questions. Both the questions were of five marks each and the severe consequences to this are hovering over students’ minds.

To be honest, this is not the first time such a discrepancy has occurred in the JEE answer key. Even last year, several questions were allegedly deemed incorrect and one of them did not even have the correct answer in the options. Such a scenario is quite unacceptable and has hence received rash responses from the students. Since each of the questions carried 5 marks, its impact can significantly affect a student’s rank (The cut-throat competition often pushes the rank behind by a thousand for a 5-10 marks difference).

Consequently, students and their parents too are furious about the situation. Some of them have asked for bonus marks to everyone or marking the examination on the basis of 88 questions. The chairman of CBSE YSK Seshu Kumar, on the other hand, said that there would be no disadvantage caused to the students due to the loophole.

The results of the JEE Main would be out on April 27 and these two questions could make a huge difference form many of the students. Also, just off the topic, you can challenge the answer key over here if you need to.
