Amol Parashar
A mechanical engineering graduate from IIT Delhi, Amol quit his job to get into performing arts. He shifted his base from Delhi to Pune and then to Mumbai for the love for theater. You may have seen him in many advertisements and films—the most prominent one was the ad for McDowell’s. He’s now all set to star in the upcoming thriller film “Traffic”.
Biswapati Sarkar
Popularly known as “Arnub”, this IIT Kharagpur graduate hosts the online talk-show series “Barely Speaking with Arnub”. The show has over 7.5 million YouTube views and has featured celebrities and politicians like Shahrukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and Arvind Kejriwal.
Arunabh Kumar
An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, he conceptualized and launched The Viral Fever, a popular online entertainment network. He has also assisted in the direction of “Om Shanti Om”. Arunabh was included in the Fortune Top 40 under 40 list for 2015, and his show “TVF Pitchers” is currently ranked #21 on IMDB’s Top-Rated TV Shows. He embarked on this remarkable journey after he quit his job as a research consultant in the US Air Force.
Chetan Bhagat
This investment banker finally found his calling in writing books. With an illustrious career, he contributes columns about topics such as the youth, career development, and current affairs to The Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar. This graduate from IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad has six books to his name. Furthermore, his screenwriting efforts have led to the creation of movies like Kai Po Che, 2 States, and Kick.
Rahul Ram
Also known as Logic Baba band because of his rationality, Rahul Ram is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, St. Stephens and Cornell University. He is well known for playing bass guitar in the band “Indian Ocean”. His popular music compositions and playback singing ventures in Bollywood include tracks like “Yaara Maula” and “Dhuan”.
Biswa Kalyan Rath
He’s an IIT Kharagpur graduate who quit his job at Oracle to become a full-time comedian in 2014. This stand-up comedian and YouTuber is known for his “Pretentious Movie Reviews”, a YouTube series where he reviews yesteryear Bollywood films along with fellow stand-up comedian Kanan Gill.
Varun Grover
Womaniya, Hunter, and Jiya Tu are not his only chartbusters. This IIT BHU graduate has written songs for around 13 movies, “Udta Punjab”, “Fan” & “Raman Raghav 2.0” to name a few. After briefly working as a software consultant in Pune, he moved to Mumbai to become a writer and standup comedian.
