Some Foreign Universities Considering JEE Scores:
Every year about 15,00,000 students appear for JEE , but only about 10,000 top candidates are able to secure a seat. This implies that only 1 student out of 150 is selected! The paper not only assesses the knowledge of the aspirants but also their time management skills, the way they handle pressure situations and adapt quickly to the changes. This makes the exam a tough nut to crack.
And when it comes to securing a seat in a foreign university, it becomes a monstrous task for Indian students. Did you that most foreign universities require a minimum of 12-13 years of academic education with top grades? To get an admission into these foreign universities, you need top grades with high test scores. In this article, we look at foreign universities considering JEE scores.
Do Foreign Universities Accept JEE Entrance Scores?
The entrance exams like SAT (for class 10 students) and GATE (Undergraduate students) help students gain admission to the foreign university. But other Indian exams are not so widely accepted by the foreign countries.
Some foreign universities are also willing to consider JEE scores for their own admission processes. One very special difference between the universities of India and foreign universities is that foreign universities not only check the educational knowledge of the student, but also other things such as excellent communication skills, honesty, integrity, talent, special achievements, teamwork, community service, volunteer work, etc.
The international universities conduct their own entrance for admissions into universities. The National University of Singapore is the only university outside India, which accepts the JEE score for admission into the undergraduate programmes. Just remember that Singapore is more aligned to scholastic excellence. In other words, while they would politely nod that you were a school captain and won many awards in dance and drama, they would not necessarily be impressed. An exceptional high score or a good rank in JEE Main/ Advanced on the other hand would make them sit up and notice. So, for Singapore Universities…remember, think high! Also, though the National University of Singapore accepts the JEE entrance scores, it clearly mentions that you must get some brownie points in competitive exams
Mostly American and German Universities accept GATE scores & Manila accepts XAT score for admission to MBA programmes. Some of the universities doing the same are: Oxford University, Cambridge University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to name a few.
Today, the JEE exam has established itself as a benchmark across the globe. Clearing this prestigious exam with flying colours surely gives you an edge over other students, making you stand out from the rest of the crowd. It is entirely possible that the list of foreign universities considering JEE scores as an admission criteria, or at least a preference criteria, will grow in the coming years.
