Located on the outskirts of Tirupati, IIT Tirupati started functioning from August 5, 2015, presently in a temporary campus in Krishna Theja Educational Institutions in Tirupati. The temporary campus is situated on Tirupati-Renigunta Road at a distance of about 5 kilometers from the center of Tirupati, 4 kilometers from Renigunta Railway Junction and 8 kilometers from Tirupati Airport. Since the campus is on the main road from Tirupati to Renigunta, good public/private transport facilities are available to reach the Campus.
Right now, IIT Tirupati is offering B.Tech courses in four branches viz Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with 30 seats in each branch. From the year 2018, it will be offering M.Tech programmes, M.S (Research) programmes, and Ph.D. programmes.
IIT Tirupati: Mode of Admission
Since admission to Undergraduate Programmes in all the IITs is through JEE (Advanced). Candidates who qualify JEE (Mains) are allowed to give JEE (Advanced) after qualifying which they can apply for admission to four-year B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) program at IIT Tirupati.

IIT Tirupati: Campus
Tirupati is a major pilgrimage and cultural centre in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. It is located at the foothills of the Eastern Ghats at a distance of 150 km from Chennai and 250 km from Bengaluru cities. Tirupati is well connected by air, rail and road.
Tirupati is also an excellent educational centre consisting of various existing universities, institutions etc. The Andhra Pradesh Government proposes to make Tirupati a major knowledge hub. Other institutions coming up in the vicinity of the proposed IIT Tirupati campus include IISER Tirupati and IIIT SriCity, Chittoor Dist.
The temporary campus of IIT Tirupati is situated on Tirupati-Renigunta Road at a distance of 5 kilometers from the center of Tirupati, 4 kilometers from Renigunta Railway Junction and 8 kilometers from Tirupati Airport.
Presently, IIT Tirupati is operating from a temporary campus on Tirupati – Renigunta Road and plans are well underway to set up its own campus (about 530 acres) in the coming 2 to 3 years in Merlapaka Village, Yerpedu Mandal, Chittoor District, A.P.
To start with, the temporary academic campus is being planned and designed with all the facilities such as class rooms equipped with modern teaching aids, up-to-date laboratories, computer lab, high bandwidth internet with Wi-Fi connectivity, video conferencing halls, chat & idea rooms, and sports facilities. It will be ensured that the new entrants are comfortable and feel that they entered a well-established institute.
The permanent campus is to be located at Merlapaka on Yerpedu-Venkatagiri road, 22 kilometers from Tirupati and 14 kilometers from the airport. It is planned that the permanent campus will be operative by 2019. Large industrial parks like Sri City near Tada already exist in the vicinity of the proposed campus. The A.P. Government proposes to further develop major industrial activity in the Chennai-Nellore-Tirupati triangle area. This would provide many opportunities of internships and placement for the students studying at IIT Tirupati.
The hostel facility for boys has been arranged at 21st Century Gurukul, a few yards away from Alipiri whereas girls can avail the facility at the temporary campus itself.
IIT Tirupati is expected to be a 12,000 student campus in the coming decades.

Around 530 acres of land for the development of the permanent campus has been approved by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. This land is located on the Yerpedu–Venkatagiri road, 22 km from Tirupati town and 14 km from the airport. The permanent campus is expected to be operational by 2019.
This permanent campus is expected to have as much space which can accommodate around 12000 students.

Your college life becomes memorable when you can enjoy at the same time focussing on your academic goals and IIT Tirupati proves the same.
Recently, students from IIT Tirupati also represented India in Indian Youth Delegation to China and Indian Youth Delegation to Russia.
Apart from this, their are lot of activities which are organized inside campus like tech talk, sports activities, festival celebrations etc. which gives every student a chance to develop themselves socially, intellectually and scientifically.
Students formed various clubs to carry out different extra-curricular activities such as:
Artista: This is the art club, which caters to talents in painting, sketching, craft and creating something beautiful with a theme.
Sargam: The Music Club caters to interests in singing, composing or creating and presenting anything which appeals to the ears.
Sahayog: This club manages what IIT Tirupati is most proud of: its social initiatives—orphanage support, school teaching and so forth.
Photography Club: The photography club organised events such as Photography Drive and Independence Click.
Students are also involved in social service programmes where they are trying to educate children.
IIT Tirupati: Placements
The first batch of engineering students will pass out from IIT Tirupati in 2019. So, no information is available regarding placements right now.
Recently, five students were selected for 6 weeks internship at Texas A&M University, USA.
