Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is an All-India Common Entrance Exam for admission to engineering colleges across India. It is conducted in two phases – JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). The IITs and ISM provide admission based on the results of JEE Advanced.
JEE Advanced is the popular examination conducted by the seven zonal Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB). Students who qualify JEE-Main can appear for the JEE-Advanced examination. For the year 2019, JEE Advanced will be conducted by IIT Kanpur. It is a national level examination through which admission to B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech or B.Tech-M.Tech Dual Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science & Pharmacy is provided in IITs and ISM. JEE Advanced Admit Card 2019
After you successfully register for JEE Advanced 2019 you have download admit card for JEE Advanced 2019 which will be released by IIT Kanpur. The admit card will contain information like roll number, name, photograph, date of birth, category, the language of examination, venue, date, time of examination, etc. IIT Roorkee will release JEE Advanced 2019 admit card most probably on 20th May. The admit card of JEE Advanced 2019 will be available only online which means it will not be sent to candidates through other means. JEE Advanced admit card 2019 will be available online and candidates can download it by entering their registration number, date of birth, application number and email ID same as in registration form filled by the candidate. It is important for candidates to take a printout of JEE Advanced admit card 2019 as without it they will not be allowed to sit for the entrance exam.

This year examination will be held on May 27. As you know, the entire JEE (Advanced) 2019 Examination will be conducted in a fully computer-based test mode. The exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours’ duration, and will be held in two sessions. Both the papers are compulsory.
It is mandatory for each and every candidate to carry their JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card along with them to the examination hall. Candidates without it will not be allowed to enter the examination hall under any circumstances.
The JEE Advanced admit card will be available online by May 2019. If you are going to send the application form by post, make sure you do it via Speed Post. In the days following, you will receive by post your JEE Advanced 2019 admit card.
How to Download JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card?
- Go to JEE Advanced official website – https://cportal.jeeadv.ac.in/
- Provide your JEE Advanced registration number, Phone number & email ID.
- Click on ‘Download Admit Card’ button.
- Your admit card will be displayed on the screen.

How does a JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card look like?
The admit card of JEE Advanced 2019 will also be similar to above one with some changes like change in examination schedule, change in name of conducting IIT etc.
JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card Details
The admit card for JEE Advanced 2019 will bear the following details. The candidates should check for any discrepancies.
- Name of the candidate.
- Roll no. for JEE Advanced 2019
- Photograph
- Signature
- Date of birth.
- Address for correspondence.
- Category of the candidate.
- Language of the question paper.
- Name and address of the exam centre allotted to the candidates.
Along with these admit card will be having exam instructions written within. Candidates are advised to read them carefully and carry required documents while going for the exam.
Why is the Admit Card Important?
The admit card the admission ticket to JEE Advanced 2019 exam. If you don’t have it, you would not be allowed to sit for the exam at the examination centre.
When you enter the examination hall, you need to present your printed copy of the Admit Card to the invigilators.
Invigilators then match the details on the admit card with the verification record of the exam centre. If both the details do not match or the identity of a candidate is in doubt, then students might not get allowed to write the exam. If invigilators do decide to allow the candidate to appear for the exam at their discretion, they have to complete many crucial formalities. Students will not be given extra time for completion of these formalities.
If a student is found to be impersonating anyone else, then he or she will be disqualified in the exam.
Points to Remember About JEE Advanced Admit Card 2019
- Candidates need to cross check all the details while downloading the admit card. If there is any discrepancy, they need to report to the Chairman, JEE Advanced 2019.
- Apart from the JEE Advanced 2019 admit card, students must carry 1 photo ID proof and anyone document out of these – Aadhaar Card, Driving License, School/College ID, Pan Card or Passport.
- It is recommended to reach the exam centre 1.30 hours or at least 1 hour before the exam time. You need to plan your travel well in advance so that even if there is an unexpected situation, you still make it to the exam centre on the scheduled exam time.
- Candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre once the exam starts. Similarly, they can leave the seats only after the test is done.
- The original admit card for JEE Advanced-2019 will replace the admit card you’ve downloaded over the internet.
- You will need to show the original Admit Card for document verification during the counselling process and also for joining the Institute where you are offered admission.
Important Instructions for Exam Day
- Reporting time– Candidates must reach the exam centre before time to complete the pre-examination formalities such as physical checking and biometric verification.
- Things to be carried to exam centre– Candidates have to carry their JEE Advanced admit card and photo identity proof to the exam centre.
- Banned items– Stationery items such as geometry box, writing pad, study material as well as electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, digital watch, etc. are not allowed inside the exam hall.
- Code of conduct– Candidates must maintain silence in the exam hall. Violation of any rules and regulations at any stage of the exam will lead to the cancellation of candidature.
What To Do If You Forget the JEE Advanced Registration Number?
IIT Kanpur will enable a facility from where candidates will be able to access their forgotten registration number of JEE Advanced. In such a situation, the candidates have to click on a link and candidates can access the same from there after entering few details.

- Access the link available for downloading admit card.
- Click on ‘Forgot JEE Advanced registration number’.
- Provide your JEE Main roll no. & Date of Birth details.
- Click on Display JEE Advanced registration number.
- Your registration number would be displayed on the screen.
Discrepancy or Unavailability of Admit Card
Candidates might face problem in getting access or downloading the Admit Card of JEE Advanced 2019 due to the following reason:
Server Error: Due to heavy online traffic, the site might crash or take some time to respond candidates might face difficulty in downloading the admit card. Once the traffic comes back to normal, candidates can download their admit card.
Entering Wrong Details: Candidates must ensure that they enter the correct registration number and date of birth to get access of the admit card.
Incomplete Application Procedure: Candidates will require filling up all the details in the Application Form of JEE Advanced 2019. Incomplete application procedure and non-payment of the application fees will lead to the cancellation of the application form and no admit card will be issued to the candidates.
Rectification of Discrepancy: In case of any discrepancy in or unavailability of the admit card, candidates must immediately contact the Chairman of the respective zonal IIT. Here’s the list of the zonal IITs.
Exam Centers
This examination will be organized in selected cities & towns in India. At the time of online registration, candidates have to select three cities/towns from a zone according to their preferences. The exam center allotment will be based on candidate’s choices & seat availability. Under exceptional circumstances, a different city/town in the same zone will be allotted to the candidate. Important Information Regarding Exam Pattern
During a press meet one of the JAB official said, “Since there is no order about framing questions in a particular way, question-setters will be at liberty to introduce a variety of questions, breaking trends. Examinees will be required to think harder, and not just rely on techniques or memorization to crack the questions. Concept-based questions will increase and the question pattern will change.” So, candidates are advised to prepare themselves for some changes as well.
