JEE Advanced Exam is the entrance exam for admissions to the coveted IITs and ISM. JEE Advanced 2017 will be conducted on 21st May 2017. IIT Madras is conducting this year’s exam. The admissions will be done on the basis of the ranks obtained through this exam. The official answer key will be released shortly by the JEE board. JEE Advanced Exam Format
JEE Advanced exam has a slightly complicated format. Over the years the format of the exam has changed a lot. Unlike other exams every year there is a slight change in the format of the exam. This is a main factor in making this exam a formidable one. The exam is of 6 hours with 2 papers. The first paper is from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. and the second paper is from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. Majority of the questions are of multiple choice format. Most of the questions have more than option correct. There are also some questions for which you have to write the answer. Usually such answers are one-worded or a number. There are match the following type questions too.

JEE Advanced 2017 Result
The result for JEE Advanced 2017 will be declared on June 11 2017. The results will be up on the website and the candidates will also be sent a text message of the rank they received. There will be no physical display of the ranks and scores by the JEE board. To get a result each candidate must get a minimum qualifying score in each section of the exam. The qualifying score varies according to the category of the candidate. Challenging the answer key
For the convenience of the candidates the JEE Advanced 2017 question paper, the answer key of the each set and the graded ORS of each candidate will be put by the JEE board. The candidates can carefully tally up their marks according to the answer key and can calculate their own score. The calculated score can help the candidates to know what is their potential rank. There is also an option of review for those candidates who think that there is an error in their score calculation. Such candidates can send a request to the JEE board to re correct their ORS. The fees for re correction is Rs. 500. The result obtained after re correction is final and binding.
JEE Advanced 2017 counselling
The counselling for JEE Advanced 2017 will commence from June 19 2017 and will go on till July 18 2017. The counselling is done by the JoSAA. Counselling is the process through which the seats are allotted to the candidates. The seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of the ranks obtained and the seat matrix of the different IITs and ISM. The seat allotment process is usually done in 6 rounds. The counselling process is done online. The students have to initially register themselves and then they have to fill in their choice of colleges and the branches they desire. The allotment of the seats is done based upon the choice list of the student and the best seat that fits to their rank obtained. After the allotment process there is the document verification process. The following documents have to be produced during the verification process:
- JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment letter from JoSAA portal
- JEE Advanced 2017 Original Admit card
- JEE Advanced 2017 Application Form (duly filled)
- Duly filled Medical Examination Report
- Proof of Date of Birth: Class X/HSC/Birth Certificate/Any other certificate as proof of date of birth
- Class XII/SSC/Equivalent exam Mark sheet and Certificate of passing
- Category Certificate (OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by the competent authority
- For foreign nationals: Attested photocopy of the page in the passport containing name, photo and nationality.
After verification of all the above documents the admission of a candidate to the institute is confirmed.
