JEE Main 2019 Admit Card

The admit card for January JEE Main 2019 Examination will be available by National Testing Agency (NTA) from December 17th, 2019 in online mode only. The national level examination will be conducted twice a year (January and April) in online (computer based) mode. First Attempt is scheduled to be held on January 6th to 20th, 2019 and candidate should report with the printed admit card to the allotted test centre. The Second JEE Main Exam is scheduled to be held on April 7th to 21st, 2019 and the admit card for the same will be available to download from March 18th, 2019.

How to download JEE Main 2019 Admit Card?

The steps to download the admit card is mentioned here:

  • Go to the official website and click on the link “Login for Examination City, Date and Shift”.
  • Enter your  application number of JEE Main 2019, password and security pin and submit it.
  • Provide the roll number and details related to class 12th board/qualifying examination. The same process is applicable for candidates who have passed class 12th  in the previous year
  • Download and print the admit card

Important: Before downloading JEE Main 2019 admit card, ensure that all the details reflecting on the admit card are correct.

It is advisable to log on to the website using only a desktop computer or laptop. You might be able to access the same pages through your mobile phone, but for safety reasons, it is advisable to login only with your computer instead. Ensure that a printout of the admit card is taken and also save a soft copy on the disk, just in case.

Also, lakhs of students have appeared for the JEE Main Exam in 2019. So, for obvious reasons, the server is expected to have the tremendous rush in the initial hours. So, even if you are not able to login, it is advisable to be patient and try clearing the cache of your system for fast browsing. Whether you have applied for the pen and paper mode or the online examination, you need to download the admit card. It is crucial to remember the information about your centre name and address that would be printed on your admit card.

What if one forgets JEE Main 2019 Application Number or Password?

In case any candidate forgets his/her JEE Main Application Number or Password, then that candidate should use the account recovery option, which can be done by following some simple steps mentioned below.

  • Go to JEE Main 2019 Admit Card  download page
  • Enter JEE Main 2019 Application Number and Password
  • If you don’t remember the aforementioned details, then click on “I can’t access my account”
  • A window will appear
  • Select any of the following two options
    -I forgot my Password
    -I forgot my Application Number
  • Click on “CONTINUE” button. The following options will get displayed
    -Using Security Question & its Answer you have chosen during Form filling
    -Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your Registered Mobile Number
    -Using a reset link sent via Email to your Registered Email address
  • Select any one of the aforementioned options
  • Click on “CONTINUE” button
  • You will be directed to another page where details as per the chosen option will have to be filled. Enter the following particulars to retrieve your JEE Main 2019 Admit card:
    -Application Number
    -Candidate’s Name
    -Mother’s Name
    -Father’s Name
    -Date of Birth
    -State of Eligibility
    -Security Pin

Examination Pattern

JEE Main Paper-I:

  • Courses: It is held for engineering courses (B.Tech. / B.E.).
  • Number of Questions: It consists of 90 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • Subjects: The paper will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
  • Mode: It will be commenced via both; online & offline.
  • Duration: 3 hours.  (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response or multi-responses.

JEE Main Paper-II:

  • Courses: It is held for Architecture course. (B.Arch.).
  • Number of Questions: It consists of 82 questions (MCQs) out of which 30 questions from mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions (descriptive) of drawing test.
  • Subjects: The paper will be asked from Mathematics, Aptitude & Drawing.
  • Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
  • Mode: It will be commenced via offline mode only.
  • Duration: 3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response (2 questions of the drawing will carry 70 marks).
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect or multi-responses.

Counselling Procedure

Joint Seat Allocation Authority, commonly known as JOSAA will conduct the counselling for admissions into UG engineering/architecture courses in 67 institutes (31 NITs, 18 IIITs, and 18 GFTIs) through JEE Main examination.

JEE Main 2019 counselling procedure is given below:

  • Online Registration for Counseling.
  • Online Choice Filling & Locking
  • Seat Allotment
  • Payment of Fees
  • Reporting to the Reporting Center (RC)
  • Reporting to the Allotted Institute

Important Points

  • JEE Main 2019 admit card will be available online only.
  • Aadhaar card is mandatory for filling online application form of JEE Main 2019. The candidates, who have not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, are required to make application for enrollment from any Aadhaar enrollment centre.
  • There will be no weightage for higher secondary marks in calculating the ranks in JEE Main examination.
  • For the applicants to qualify for admission in NITs, IIITs & such other CFTIs whose admission is based on JEE Main ranking, they must have a score of minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved categories) in higher secondary standard or be in the top 20 percentile in a higher secondary exam.

JEE Main Cutoff

One needs to clear a certain score to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. This score will depend upon a lot of factors, such as the number of students who attempt the exam, and the difficulty of the paper. Generally, the cutoffs are as follows:

  • 105-115 for General Category
  • 70-75 for OBC
  • 50-55 for SC
  • 45-50 for ST
