JEE Main 2018 Online or CBT(computer based test)

JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is a national level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admissions into the engineering colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs and the centrally funded institutes. Some states do not have a separate paper and consider JEE for admissions into the state funded colleges. This exam can be written in an offline mode i.e, paper and pen based exam or in online mode i.e, computer based exam. The JEE Main 2018 offline exam is on the 8th of April while the JEE Main 2018 online exam is on 15th and 16th of April. It will be conducted using the Local Area Network (LAN) to make it safe, secure and un-interrupted.

Let’s look at a few advantages of the Online version over the Offline one.

  • The candidate can review or re-answer any question at any point of time during the examination (answers once marked cannot be changed in paper based test).
  • The candidate can change the option of the answer during the exam duration.
  • The candidate also has the option to mark any answer for review during the examination.
  • There will be a panel on computer screen showing all the question numbers in different colours which will indicate which are the questions answered, left unanswered and marked for review. This cannot be done in offline mode.
  • Candidate gets the freedom to choose the exam date of his/her choice as per his/her convenience. Two days have been allotted (8th and 9th of April).
  • You pay Rs.500/- lesser when compared to paper based test.
